What to Expect…

Home Visits

Home visits allow you to receive care in the environment that is most convenient, comfortable and private for you. Please share your breastfeeding story with me. The visit is also likely to include information gathering, a feeding evaluation, an oral assessment of your baby, and weighing your baby- possibly several times.  After the visit, you will have access via the secure portal to a personalized care plan.  If you desire, a report of our visit can be sent to your Pediatrician and/or OB.  I may also refer you to a specialist as needed. You can continue to be in communication with me via secure messaging  for at least a week following the appointment.

Please do not take the time to clean. There is no need to separate your pets; I love fur babies too.

Client Experiences

Rachel

Alison was a godsend to us. Our baby latched before my milk came in and then decided to boycott the breast and we had no idea what to do. We thought we had tried every trick in the book and we were getting extremely frustrated! Within two hours, Alison had our baby latching and eating happily at the breast and ever since then he’s been happily breastfeeding. Alison has a calm presence and is extremely kind and attentive. She listened to what we had done, assessed the situation, and got right to work on helping us be successful. She truly is worth her weight in gold and we cannot recommend her highly enough! Her tips saved us hours of frustration and pain, and made a world of difference in my breastfeeding journey. If you are having any issues, know that she will take care of you with kindness and help you to be successful.

Words cannot express how vitally important Alison was to my nursing and overall parenting journey. I had a complicated birth story and as my medical team moved their focus to other concerns, Alison was there to facilitate my goal of breast feeding my new baby.

But my relationship with Alison began long before that first day in the nursing room and continued long after. We did classes that extended well beyond breast feeding , drawing on her extensive experience as an L&D nurse. These discussions brought much more comfort and confidence than the courses I attended at the hospital.

Once I left the hospital, I had a ton of questions as my baby changed (growth spurts, preferences in position, let-down, flow, etc) and Alison quickly responded to all of my questions with an understanding patience and empathy that I really needed during that sensitive time. She is the best part of my birth story, and I am so grateful for all the skills she taught me.

I worked with Alison who came to see me in the comfort of my home. Alison was very knowledgeable, kind, and professional. My daughter has not been gaining weight as she should. I was/am being directed to increase formula supplementation more and more from the pediatrician. I was even told I could just stop breast feeding. After seeing Alison, I was given tools to help support my goal of breastfeeding as much as possible. We were able to figure out that my milk supply was decent and that the issue lies in transfer to my baby. She gave me strategies to increase milk supply and get my baby as much high calorie milk as possible. She also identified symptoms of a tongue tie that my pediatrician did not catch, even though I expressed concerns at their office. So after this visit I felt supported, encouraged, and equipped with tools and next steps for success.

Alison was an absolute blessing during those early days with our newborn. She provided us with an incredible amount of guidance and support on feeding, teaching us the ins and outs of breastfeeding and pumping. She also recognized that our baby had a tongue and lip tie, which was an issue we wouldn’t have identified on our own. Thanks to her, we were able to quickly address the issue and find a feeding system that worked for our family. We are incredibly grateful for her expertise, compassion, and unwavering dedication to helping us navigate the challenging days of parenting.
